Now I know that I’m going to incur all kinds of slurs for making my best efforts to steer clear of social media. I’ll admit that despite my best efforts to stay off of social media platforms such as X(formally twitter) or Facebook. I wind up having to use Facebook because certain family members and friends as well as groups/organizations that I associate with use Facebook to allow their members to connect as well as communicate and coordinate gatherings of their members and supporters.
On the flip side of the coin I’ll admit that I’m significantly shortchanging myself in the area of networking with those whom share my interests and like political beliefs that I do. Although despite my knocking all of the “main stream” social media platforms, I ‘m aware that by doing this I’m practicing what in my eyes is a cyber security approach by minimizing potential attack surface.
I also do rather prefer to not get sucked into the constant slur slinging fests that can and do occasionally tend to bread on social media platforms suck as former president Trumps truth social. I tend to want to avoid certain polarizing communities such as truth social this is because I don’t want to have the potential of being associated with the “far right wing” of the republican party”party of Trump”.
The other point that I’d like to point out that I’m not all that well versed in the social sciences, but I know that if I try my hardest to avoid controversial influences on social media and on mainstream media outlets like CBS,NBC,ABC,etc,etc. Let’s not forget the polarized media outlets like Fox News for example and let’s not forget to mention CNBC,MSNBC,etc,etc.
