in the last 21+ years of my Linux journey. I’ve learned that there are several potential ups and downs in all communities weather in the computing space or otherwise. But what realty annoys the ever living heck out of me is the horrific amount of tribalism and disparaging against the users of one Linux distribution for example, If you talk to a long time Slack ware user (Slacker) as the commonly refer to themselves as about Debian or one of it slew of derivatives they’ll look down apon you and may even eject you from their user communities ya know forums and IRC chat rooms and such.
Now I’ll be the first one to come right out and sa that I’ve been known to disparage or flame new users(newbies) quite a few time in my ignorance of the fact that as a twenty-some odd year user of GNU,Linux and other alternative software packages and suites such as hexchat(now Xchat) on bot the Windows and Linux platforms.
